Jagex hires former Codemasters CFO Rashid Varachia

Varachia takes on same role at RuneScape developer having left racing studio after EA acquisition

Rashid Varachia, Codemasters' long-serving chief financial officer, has resurfaced at RuneScape developer Jagex.

Varachia left Codemasters at the end of July, less than six months after Electronic Arts completed its $1.2 billion acquisition of the British racing games developer and publisher.

He now takes on the CFO role at Jagex, and will also be joining the company's board of directors.

Varachia spent nine years as CFO for Codemasters, where he contributed to its successful floatation in 2018, the acquisition of Slightly Mad Studios in 2019 and its overall growth.

Codemasters CEO Frank Sagnier also left the company at the same time as Varachia. He has since taken on a role at virtual reality developer and publisher NDreams.
